Autograph letter signed, dated : Leipzig, 27 April 1849, to Herr Frank, 1849 Apr. 27.

Writing on behalf of Ernst Jaques from Hamburg, a nephew of his wife's, a businessman who has had since early youth a passionate love of music and who has devoted himself to the cello with such industry and success that the family often discussed whether he should not have chosen art as a profession, but adding that lately an epidemic resembling the potato blight that has swept the "Kunst Mecänen" has caused him to remain an amateur, that he flatters himself not only with music by Batta and Servais but also plays classical music, especially for cello and piano, expressing the hope that Frank will make some music with the nephew, etc.
